The tool stays free. We only charge for the hosted tiers we produce for you, each with a real cost to run — from the compute to render a PDF to the AI tokens behind a written report — and only on the hosted site. Self-host the tool and you run unlimited sessions free; the delivered services live on brickthink.io.

The honest version.
Is BrickThink really free?
Yes. The whole app is open source under Apache 2.0. Every stage, every feature on the canvas, no caps. Run it on our hosted site or your own server — the tool itself never costs anything.
Then what do you charge for?
Three hosted tiers, each a superset of the one below. Session Report gives you a hosted PDF and automatic transcript cleanup, with no Anthropic key to manage. Client-Ready adds a fully white-labelled deliverable — your logo, colours and name. Full Findings adds a complete written report with synthesised findings and suggestions. Each tier costs us money every time we run it, so it carries a subscription on the hosted site rather than quietly degrading the free tool to pay for it.
What will it cost?
Session Report is €9 per session, or €29/month or €290/year. Client-Ready is €45 per session, €119/month or €1,190/year. Full Findings is €60 per session, €159/month or €1,590/year. A per-session unlock covers a single deliverable; the monthly and yearly subscriptions cover unlimited use of that tier, with yearly working out at roughly two months free.
Can I self-host to avoid paying?
You can self-host the whole tool for free and run unlimited sessions — that part is yours under Apache 2.0. The paid tiers are different: they are things we produce and deliver for you, so they live only on the hosted site at brickthink.io and are not part of the self-hosted tool.
Is there a free trial?
No free trial. The rest of BrickThink is already free to use as much as you like, so you can judge the tool fully before you ever pay. The paid tiers are the only thing behind a subscription.
